Perhaps you're fed up of easy puzzles in locked room games, and want an app that will actually challenge your grey matter?
Maybe you're merely a fan of medieval fortresses, and like the idea of exploring a glorious castle while at the same time-solving brainteasers, puzzles and conundrums?
Regardless of why you're here (welcome, by the way!), we have the answer.
The solution to your problem? A straightforward one:
Play the best castle game currently on the market – Castle Breakout.

GoldenGauntlets (the company who made Castle Breakout) made the wise decision to ask me, a born and bred native of this green and pleasant island, to construct this page for the benefit of us here on good old Blighty. So that means you won't have to put up with endless cliches about fish and chips, cups of tea, the Queen, Buckingham Palace and bad teeth.
However (there's always a 'but' or a 'however'!), I will talk about two things that us British folk are famous for; two things that go right to the heart of British culture. They are (drum roll, please)...
1) Castles (we have more castles per square mile than any other country).
2) Escaping from things (think Steve McQueen in The Great Escape).
Let's just be creative here for a minute and wonder what it would be like if we were to combine those two majestic bastions of British societal history; what a marriage that would be.
Well, you don't have to imagine any longer (than the two seconds you already did). GoldenGauntlets have already done so in creating Castle Breakout – and what a union it is.
Of course, I'm being paid to write this, so you're no doubt sceptical and have already branded me as a shill (don't worry, it's fine, I can take it!). But just hear me out for a second. I'll make three points; then I'll leave you be (to download Castle Breakout, obviously):

If you want enjoyment and a brain workout out the same time, then this cleverly crafted and flawlessly constructed escape room game is most definitely something you'll want to download.
3) It's free. Everyone loves free stuff. Everyone. Full stop.

A genuinely subjective question if ever I've heard one! Obviously, Castle Breakout is the best escape game you'll find online (or via an app), but if you want to expand your locked room game horizons, then there are several attributes that said type of game should possess.
They're fun: As I alluded to above, we play games for enjoyment; therefore it is essential that any game or app you play ticks this box comprehensively. 'But how do you know if a game is fun prior to playing it?', You're no doubt wondering. Well, it's simple – read the reviews. There are many escape room game review sites out there, so simply get yourself onto Google *and look (*other search engines are available).
Free escape rooms won’t offer you goodies like these! The Throne Room is probably the most enjoyable room in the entire castle. You will feel like a monarch trapped during a siege. Your ability to solve the puzzles will be vital to your escape!
We loved the Throne Room so much that we threw in some extensive tutorials to make the game play a little easier. We believe you’ll find it as fascinating as we did. Don't blame us if you end up playing all night...
The warm, fuzzy feeling of accomplishment when solving a puzzle or completing an escape game is satisfying, right? Of course, it is. The chemicals and neurotransmitters buzzing around your brain will induce nigh-on euphoric feelings - the harder and more challenging the game, the greater the sense of achievement when you complete it.
They have longevity: If there is one bug bear that is exceptionally common within the world of games and apps, it's that they are too short. If you've ever been really enjoying a game then find your pleasure cut short it can be frustrating! Choose one with many levels that will take time (and effort) to complete.
Castle breakout has been designed to be difficult to complete, but not too tough that is has you pulling your hair out each time you play it! Plus, it has plenty of levels to keep you occupied for many, many hours.
If you do get stuck, then you can always cheat by using a walkthrough (!). Talking of walkthroughs...
If you want to use a walkthrough for Castle Breakout, then that's totally fine (we don't mind, honestly!). Strictly speaking, it is cheating, but we want you to enjoy the game as much as possible, and if that means you have to have a little help on the side then so be it! Obviously, we hope that you'd try your very best to complete it without assistance, but you're more than welcome to take any action you like (we firmly believe in free will!).
